Krautman to undergo season-ending surgery
Syracuse kicker Ross Krautman will undergo season-ending surgery for a “hip-related injury,” SU Athletics announced in a press release on Sunday.
Krautman, a senior, played in just two games this year. He made 1-of-2 field goals this season and missed an extra point against then-No. 19 Northwestern.
He missed part of training camp with a groin injury that’s plagued him for the last three seasons. Krautman is eligible to apply for a medical hardship waiver.
Ryan Norton, who began the season as Syracuse’s kickoff specialist, has taken over as the kicker in Krautman’s absence. He’s made 3-of-4 field goals this season, but also missed an extra point against Wagner.
