Syracuse students will get in free for Syracuse football’s (1-0) game against No. 13 Louisville (1-0) on Friday at 8 p.m, SU Athletics announced Thursday. It’s the second game of the Dino Babers era and second game in a row that SU has extended a free ticket offer to students.
Students must bring their SUID and enter through Gate E, which opens at 5:30 p.m.
The Orange won its first game of the season Sept. 2, beating Colgate 33-7. There were 31,336 fans in attendance.
On Monday, a Twitter account that goes by the name of CuseNation Sports (@cusesports44), published an open letter to SU calling for students to be let into Friday’s game for free.
The letter stated that “having to purchase tickets is a turn-off to students and that leads to students never attending a game in the Dome.” But it went on to argue that students can be hooked by one good experience, which is part of the reason free tickets should be offered.
