Syracuse defensive back Jaeden Gould has entered the transfer portal, syracuse.com’s Chris Carlson reported Wednesday. Gould is SU’s ninth player to hit the portal this month. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
According to 247Sports, Gould is a four-star transfer and the No. 34 overall cornerback available in the portal. When Gould originally committed to Nebraska in 2021, he was also a four-star and the No. 3-ranked player in the state of New Jersey.
Gould played just eight games in 2024, missing a third of the season due to an injury. He registered 11 tackles and did not force a turnover. The cornerback had a much better 2023 campaign, though. He appeared in all 13 of the Orange’s games, totaling 19 tackles, two pass breakups and an interception.
This is Gould’s second time transferring. He left the Cornhuskers for Syracuse after one season in 2022, in which he redshirted.
SU’s defensive backfield has taken a big hit over the last few days in the transfer portal. True freshman Marcellus Barnes Jr. entered the portal Monday, and Gould’s exit makes finding replacements via the portal even more of a priority for head coach Fran Brown.
