Former five-star tight end Chris Clark, who is no longer transferring to Syracuse, told The Daily Orange Monday night that SU pulled his offer and that he wanted to join the team.

“Like it makes no sense to me whatsoever … that they pulled my offer,” Clark said via Twitter direct message.

He said that Scott Shafer had the discussion with him and the head coach said, “(Syracuse) wasn’t the best fit.” Clark also added that the offer was pulled before Syracuse played Pittsburgh on Saturday, a game he was planning to attend. Clark chose Syracuse over the Panthers on Oct. 15.

The former UCLA signee committed to Syracuse after playing one game for the Bruins this season. Monday morning, Rivals.com reported that Clark and Syracuse were parting ways. He verbally committed to North Carolina and Michigan before signing with UCLA then transferring to Syracuse.

Clark was the No. 1 tight end in the Class of 2015. On Monday night, he sent out the following tweet about some responses to the news that he’d no longer be attending SU.

“My whole thing though … is it’s not fair for people to say negative things to me,” Clark said. “I wanted to go to ‘Cuse.”

Syracuse coaches are unable to comment due to NCAA rules.
