Syracuse football tight end Tyler Provo medically disqualified
Syracuse tight end Tyler Provo has been medically disqualified and will not play this season, an SU Athletics spokesman confirmed. Scout.com first reported the story.
Provo was slotted as the fourth string tight end coming out of spring practice. The redshirt junior only played against Rhode Island and Central Michigan last year (his redshirt sophomore year) on special teams. He found playing time in six games during the 2014 campaign. He has never recorded a statistic, however.
The West Palm Beach, Florida native was rated the No. 5 fullback in the country by ESPN and Scout.com coming out of high school. Provo’s brother, Nick, played for the Orange from 2008 to 2011 as a tight end and holds the school career record for receptions by a tight end with 92.
