Syracuse sophomores Jamie Trimboli and Nick Mellen have earned preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors. Syracuse and Virginia are the only two ACC schools with multiple underclassmen to make the team.
Mellen, a redshirt sophomore, returns to SU’s lineup after missing the entire 2017 season due to injury. Entering last season, the defender was named an Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American. Trimboli, a true sophomore, led all Orange freshmen with 15 points last season, including an overtime game-winner against Duke.
Of the five ACC schools, Syracuse was predicted to finish fourth in the ACC preseason coaches Poll. Duke and Notre Dame share the top spot, followed by North Carolina, SU and Virginia.
